What ages of children do you accept?
Scribbles Childcare accepts children from 6 weeks to 12 years of age.
What is your philosophy on learning and play?
We believe play is a child’s work. Our approach is child-initiated and value-based, emphasizing hands-on learning through defined learning centers. Children are encouraged to explore, question, and lead their own learning.
How do I enroll my child?
Start by scheduling a tour. After your visit, you’ll complete a prescreen form to receive the full enrollment packet. A $75 non-refundable enrollment fee secures your child’s spot for up to two weeks.
What meals and snacks are provided?
Scribbles provides healthy breakfast, lunch, and snacks daily. We encourage children to eat nutritious foods first and prohibit junk food unless approved for special occasions.
What if my child has a food allergy?
We follow a Food Allergy Action Plan customized for each child. Nut-free policies are enforced if a child with a severe allergy is enrolled, and all allergy action plans and medications are kept on hand.
What is your policy on social and emotional development?
Scribbles prioritizes emotional well-being through daily observations, SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) activities, and positive peer interactions. We work closely with families to support each child’s growth.
What are the daily activities like?
Children experience a balance of structured and free play, including circle time, small groups, indoor/outdoor play, meals, rest time, and learning center exploration.
Do you support toilet training?
Yes. We partner with families when children show readiness. Consistency between home and the childcare center is key, and we use a positive, child-led approach without pressure or material rewards.
How do you handle discipline?
We use Conscious Discipline—focused on positive reinforcement, redirection, and teaching self-control. Time-outs are only used when appropriate and never for children under age three.
What are your illness and sick policies?
Children with fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or other symptoms must stay home until they are symptom-free for 24 hours or have been on antibiotics for at least 24 hours.
What are your hours of operation?
We’re open Monday–Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. A late pick-up fee of $1 per minute applies after 6:00 p.m.
What do I need to bring for my child?
Each child should have a labeled change of clothes, rest-time blanket, and diapers or training pants if applicable. Infants require labeled bottles and additional items like pacifiers or wipes.
Are staff trained and certified?
Yes. All staff complete state-required training, CPR/First Aid certification, and undergo background checks. They continue professional development throughout the year.
Can my child bring toys from home?
No, toys from home are not allowed unless requested for a special activity like Show and Tell. Comfort items for rest time are permitted.
How do you communicate with families?
We stay connected through the Parent Portal, direct messages, and scheduled conferences. Parents are encouraged to reach out anytime.
What happens during emergencies?
We follow strict protocols for fire, weather events, injuries, and illness. Emergency contacts are required for each child, and parents will be notified promptly as needed.
